Google Doodle has just changed its interface to celebrate the day Ha Long Bay was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage (December 17, 1994–December 17, 2023).

Ha Long Bay is located in the northeast of Vietnam in Quang Ninh Province, with an area of 1,553 km2 covering 1,969 islands (of which 980 have names). This is the most beautiful sea in the world and is rich in potential for tourism development, with beautiful natural landscapes and typical, unique ecosystems.

When visiting Ha Long Bay, many tourists will take a deep journey into Sung Sot Cave, the largest cave in the bay. Besides, visitors will have attractive experiences with many sea activities, such as fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, etc.

On December 17, 1994, at the 18th session held in Phuket (Thailand), the World Heritage Council of UNESCO (United Nations) officially included Ha Long Bay in the list of World Natural Heritage with the global aesthetic value of the International Convention for the Protection of the World’s Natural and Cultural Heritage.

On November 29, 2000, Ha Long Bay continued to be recognized as a World Natural Heritage for its geological and geomorphological value.

On the night of September 16, 2023 (Vietnam time), Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province and the Cat Ba island complex in Hai Phong City were officially recognized by UNESCO as World Natural Heritage sites.

Today, on the Google homepage, Ha Long Bay is drawn with images of green mountains and the appearance of a ship with brown sails moving with a flock of seagulls.

When clicking on this icon, 10.5 million search results will appear in just about 0.3 seconds, including information, images, and articles about natural conditions, culture, tourism, cuisine, etc., about Ha Long Bay.

Today’s Google Doodle honors Ha Long Bay, “a place famous for more than 1,000 limestone islands formed in the sea.”

Recently, Ha Long Bay has been continuously ranked by domestic and international tourism information sites as an attractive destination and the top most visited wonder in the world.
